New Castle, DE – Early Saturday morning, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of 3rd Avenue in the community of Overlook Colony for a report of a shooting that just occurred. When the officers arrived, they found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
This investigation is still ongoing and in its early stages. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
