U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar knows what it feels like to be branded by a broad brush. Her own Muslim faith is constantly under assault as being branded as “terrorists” and “aligned with ISIS” and many other bigoted stereotypes. That’s why it’s strange to see a woman with a background that has been the subject of broad and baseless racism would do the exact same thing to 70,000,000 Americans from all walks of life.
Their crime? They supported America’s former President Donald J. Trump. Today, Omar labeled half of America as Islamaphobic, misogynistic, radical right racists who believe in a conspiracy theory and want to overthrow America.
This is simply not true and she needs to also be censored by Twitter for breeding hate as her comment is meant only to provoke and harass her political opponents.
“It’s really sad to see how much of the whataboutism from the media and the Radical Right is rooted in misogyny, islamophobia and racism. Stop whitewashing the actions of the bigoted conspiracy theorists, violent insurrectionists and fascist cult followers of Trump. Do better,” Omar tweeted today.
In order to protect her own faith from the backlash that arose in the wake of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, Omar notably said, “Some people did something.”
“For far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen, and frankly I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it,” Omar said. “CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.”
Now, Omar is doing exactly what was done to her Muslim brothers and sisters in the years since 9-11.
Let’s face it Ms. Omar, on January 6th, some people did something. A very small group of people do not represent the 70,00,000 Americans who voted for Trump. Condoning violence and reprisal against Republicans and Trump supporters is also condoning the very same style of violence against Muslims because, on 9-11, some people did something. They killed thousands of Americans and those people don’t represent all of America’s Muslims.
We don’t expect radical Ilhan to grasp this concept because she herself is mostly driven by rage and hate against half of America. You might even call her a bigot.
