Marion County Sheriff’s Looking for Suspect Who Fired Shots at Detective

MARION COUNTY, FL – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is searching for Nathaniel James Woodruff who is accused of shooting at a detective on Tuesday. Police have released a photo of Woodruff along with the car he was last seen driving

A release by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office reads as follows:

On February 2, 2021, one of our detectives attempted a traffic stop near the intersection of NW 110th Avenue and W Highway 40 on a silver 2002 BMW 325XI bearing FL tag Z535MU. The driver fled from the detective and then OPENED FIRE AND SHOT AT OUR DETECTIVE! Luckily, the detective was not injured. The shooter has been identified as 20-year-old Nathaniel James Woodruff. We need your help getting this violent individual off the streets. If you have any information on his whereabouts, do not approach, but call us at 352-732-9111.
