Bridgeville woman charged after threatening to kill acquaintance with knife

Ellendale, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 24-year-old Aliseya Cephas of Bridgeville, on felony criminal charges following an assault incident.

On February 05, 2021, at approximately 11:50 a.m., troopers responded to Willow Street, Ellendale, for a reported assault. Upon arrival, troopers learned Cephas engaged in a verbal altercation with a 25-year-old female acquaintance at the residence.

The argument escalated inside of the bedroom, and Cephas displayed a knife at the acquaintance and threatened to kill her. The female acquaintance attempted to exit the residence and was threatened a second time by Cephas who was in the kitchen holding a pair of scissors threatening to harm her.

The female acquaintance exited the residence and attempted to leave in her vehicle when Cephas confronted her again and assaulted her with pepper spray. At this time, officers arrived on scene and took Cephas into custody without incident.


The female acquaintance did not required medical treatment.


Cephas was transported to Troop 7, where she was charged with the following crimes:

  • Assault 2nd Degree (felony)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (felony)

Cephas was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
