Man charged for fatal hit and run in Indio

INDIO, CA – On Thursday, February 4, 2021 at approximately 4:38 A.M., Indio Police Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian major traffic accident at the intersection of Monroe Street and Ave 42.

The investigation revealed a pick-up truck struck a male adult pedestrian walking his bicycle at the intersection. The driver of the pick-up left the area without rendering aid or calling emergency 9-1-1. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

The Indio Police Department’s Traffic Unit along with the Major and Street Crimes Unit were able to identify the driver of the pick-up as Mark Bravo, age 28 of Indio. Bravo was arrested by Detectives on February 10, 2021 at his Indio residence and was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.


Bravo was charged with felony Hit & Run Fatal related to the traffic collision investigation. Indio Police Department and the Riverside County Sheriff – Coroner’s Bureau have an ongoing investigation.
