Tractor-trailer driver slid his meat into embankment while driving along icy highway

FAIRFAX, VA – A tractor-trailer driver near Fairfax, Virginia slid his meat truck off the side of I-495 early Saturday morning as an ice storm layered roads and highways with a thin sheet of ice.

As temperatures drop below freezing overnight, today’s wet roads will become extremely icy and treacherous. Virginians are advised to avoid travel overnight due to slick conditions and the increased potential for fallen trees, power lines, etc., ” Virginia State Police warned drivers, but not before this driver had to have his meat pulled from the embankment.

The C&C Meat Sales Inc. truck was one of 195 disabled vehicles and 366 crashes Virginia police responded to statewide on Saturday.  There were no injuries reported in this three-vehicle crash.
