Teen ambushed answering front door in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – Suspects in Columbus took ding-dong-ditch to a new level as they played ding, dong, gat, shooting a young teen in the abdomen.

On Thursday at 1:07am, officers were dispatched to 1272 Zettler Rd. on a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was transported to Grant Hospital and is expected to survive his injury.


The victim stated that he heard someone knocking on the front door and went to to see who it was. The victim stated that he asked “who is it” and that’s when unknown individuals fired several gunshots through the front door and the side of the house, striking the victim once.

Detectives processed the scene and determined that both hand gun and rifle rounds were shot into the home.
