Man caught trying to rape 71-year-old in Tempe Park

TEMPE, AZ – The Tempe Police Department has arrested a man for the attempted rape of a 71-year-old woman.

According to a brief statement made this afternoon by the Tempe Police, 30-year-old Kevin Caballero was arrested on Saturday after a violent attack and attempted sexual assault on a 71-year-old female victim at Kiwanis Park.

While Caballero was attacking the elderly woman, he was noticed by two other people in the park. Those people sprung into action and came to her rescue.

“Two passersby intervened and were able to detain the suspect until officers arrived,” the Tempe Police Department. “We are thankful for their assistance.”
Caballero was arrested and charged by the Tempe Police Department for his crime.
