AKRON – A man hid under a teenage girl’s bed, in her bedroom, raping her for three weeks before he was caught. The girl’s family did not know he was in the home the entire time.
The incident happens in a time in a America where violent acts against children are on the rise as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, creating a mental health and citizen safety crisis within itself.
Jaret Wright, 20, of Barberton was indicted after prosecutors said he was caught living under the girls’ bed for weeks, raping her repeatedly and taking nude photographs of the girl.
The girl’s mother caught Wright under her bed the complaint filed in the Hamilton County Court says. The age of the girl was not released, but she was between 13 and 17-years-old. Wright allegedly forced the victim down and had sex with her, the prosecutor’s office said.
This happened over the course of three weeks and the girl did not notify her parents. Wright was held on a $50,000 bail.
