The vacant lot sits just south of Martel’s Waters Edge on Bayview Avenue. The county owns most of the marsh land around the site. The federal government owns the northern end of Good Luck Point nearby.

The property is being purchased from current owner, George Becker according to county records.

“Accepting the recommendation of the OC Natural Lands Trust Fund Advisory Committee to acquire property identified as Block 1218, Lots 11 & 11.01, Township of Berkeley, totaling approximately 1.32 acres located on Bayview Avenue, in an amount not to exceed $485,000.00, plus up to $2,500.00 for property tax adjustments,” a resolution by the county read.

Haines and the Natural Lands Trust Fund also purchased a 3.4 acre parcel of land in Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Boulevard for $50,000.
