Township of Hamilton Green Team and Oakcrest High School Presents Save the Earth Expo and Community Clean-up Saturday, April 17

Township of Hamilton, New Jersey – The Township of Hamilton Green Team and Oakcrest High School will present Save the Earth Expo, taking place at Oakcrest High School, 1824 Dr. Dennis Forman Drive, Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10am – 2pm.

The outdoor, family friendly expo’s mission is to educate and encourage others to live a more sustainable lifestyle. There will be 50+ green vendors and exhibitors; seafood and plant-based food sales; demos on reducing your carbon footprint; recycling e-waste, rigid plastics, sneakers, and crayons; personal document shredding; live performances; and more! COVID-19 GUIDELINES WILL BE ENFORCED


There will also be a Community Clean-up that morning held at the Mays Landing Industrial Park at Cantillon Boulevard from 8am – 10am. All supplies will be provided. The Green Team recommends participants dress comfortably and wear closed toe shoes for safety precautions. Parking will take place along Cantillon & Cedarwood Boulevards meeting at the intersection of Cantillon Boulevards and Atlantic Avenue to start.

“We are thrilled to co-host these eco-friendly, community-based events. With spring arriving, it is important to get outside to participate in local events again, safely. The Save the Earth Expo and Community Clean-up not only offer educational, family fun but can instill lifelong green habits as well,” stated Mayor Charles Cain.

The Sustainable Township of Hamilton Green Team, established by the Township Committee, and registered with the Sustainable Jersey Municipal Certification Program, supports a model of government that benefits our residents now and into the future with green community initiatives that are easily replicated and affordable. Having a Green Team can have many benefits for the Township including grant funding, support for community events, state-level recognition, and overall community wellness and resiliency.

Oakcrest High School, named after the hill crest oak trees site, is a comprehensive four-year public high school located in the Township of Hamilton, Atlantic County, New Jersey. The school is part of the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District. Oakcrest provides a wide range of challenging AP classes, “magnet” programs, college credit bearing dual-enrollment courses, and career/technical education elective offerings along with boasting a variety of award winning extra-curricular and athletic programs. Most recently, the school has become a Bronze Certified member of Sustainable Jersey Schools through actions, lessons, and activities to promote sustainable practices and awareness throughout the school and community.
