Panama City area man charged for battery of a child

PANAMA CITY, FL – The Bay County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Lynn Haven man on April 5, 2021, for sexual battery of a child. The BCSO received information on this case from the Naval Criminal Investigative Services(NCIS).

Working with Department of Children & Families (DCF) investigators, BCSO Criminal Investigators conducted an interview with the victim. Based on information learned during this interview, as well as other evidence collected during the investigation, Dwayne Gordon, age 40, of Derby Woods Drive, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery of a Person Between 12 to 18 years of age

.Sheriff Tommy Ford would like to thank NCIS and DCF for their quick action in this case. By working together, law enforcement and child welfare agencies were able to prevent further victimization of the child. Sheriff Ford reminds all Bay County residents that anyone in Florida who suspects the abuse or neglect of a child is required to report it to DCF.
