Driver killed in high-speed crash in Columbus neighborhood

COLUMBUS, OH – On April 14, 2021, at 12:55 am, 20-year-old Kevin Linares Amacio was traveling northbound on Cleveland Ave. at a high rate of speed in a 2007 Lincoln MKX. The vehicle left the roadway on the right (east) side of Cleveland Ave. at Ferris Rd. The vehicle struck several objects including multiple curbs, signs, and poles before overturning. Amacio was ejected during the crash and pronounced deceased at 1:01 am.

CPD’s Accident Investigation Unit responded and initiated an investigation which is ongoing.To date in 2021, there have been 24 fatal traffic crashes resulting in 27 fatalities in Columbus.
