Police find decomposing body in car parked for months after complaints of foul odor

COLUMBUS, OH – On April 13, 2021 at 9:08 pm, officers responded to 1585 Smith Rd. on the report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot that had been parked there for a month and is now producing a foul odor.

Officers arrived and discovered a silver Nissan Sentra, with a Pennsylvania tag, parked in the rear of 1585 Smith Rd. Officers were able to see what appeared to be an arm with a watch, under a blanket, in the rear of this vehicle.

CFD arrived at scene and was able to open the vehicle and located a victim in the rear seat, under a blanket, in advanced stages of decomposition. The victim was pronounced deceased at 9:08pm.

The Franklin Coroner’s Office responded and took possession of the victim’s body. The vehicle was photographed by CSSU (Crime Scene Search Unit) and then impounded to be processed at the impound lot.
