Delaware teen arrested for shooting

NEW CASTLE, DE – On Tuesday, March 30th, at approximately 5:30 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to Balfour Ave, in the community of Knollwood for the report of gunshots being fired.

When the officers arrived, they learned from witnesses that a 15-year-old white male was seen shooting into the parkland in the direction of Colby Avenue. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. The detectives learned that the juvenile got into an argument earlier, returned, and fired multiple rounds into the parkland.

On Tuesday, the juvenile was located in the City of Wilmington by detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit, Special Investigations Squad, and taken into custody.


He was transported to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with seven counts of felony Reckless Endangering, one count of felony Possession a Handgun by a Person Prohibited, one count of felony Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, and one count of Discharging a Firearm within Area of a Dwelling, a New Castle County Code Violation.

He was arraigned by New Castle County Family Court and ordered held at the New Castle County Detention Center on $62,001 dollars cash bail.
