$50,000 scratch-off sold in Kensington

A lucky player from Gaithersburg brought a winning scratch-off to light when he stopped at a Kensington gas station.

The Montgomery County man unearthed his prize on a $10 50X The Cash scratch-off at Kensington Liberty located at 10550 Connecticut Avenue in Kensington. The 57-year-old player found the fifth of 12 $50,000 prizes and multiplied his $10 by 5,000.

The 50X The Cash scratch-off went on sale Jan. 18 along with other members of the X Multiplier family of five games. The five games — 5X The Cash10X The Cash20X The Cash50X The Cash and 100X The Cash — offer “Xtra Xciting” ways to win instant prizes of up to $1 million and second-chance prizes of up to $50,000. The final second-chance drawing to award two $50,000 winners takes place April 28.

Plenty of prizes remain in this game. Players can hunt for four remaining $100,000 top prizes, seven unclaimed $50,000 prizes, 19 $10,000 prizes and more than 440,000 others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
