GoFundMe started for teen killed in Brunswick

A GoFundMe campaign has been started for a teen who was shot and killed in Brunswick.

Malakai Tyrelle Cooke, born July 17, 2003, tragically passed away on April 16 2021. Malakai was a Brunswick native and the victim of a deadly shooting in Frederick county. 

Malakai lives on through his parents; Joe and Katey Cooke and his two brothers Quentin and Cameron.
At approximately 2 a.m., Frederick County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Country Inn and Suites located at the 5500 block of Spectrum Drive in Frederick for a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, deputies found one victim deceased on scene. 

Malakai will be missed by his many family and friends and are deeply saddened at the loss of his life. Malakai’s compassion was visible at all times around his loved ones. Malakai enjoyed spending time with friends, video games, making people laugh, and enjoying the little things in life.
