A 50-year-old administrative assistant from New Castle has claimed the second $15,000 top prize for the CA$H PLU$ Instant Game. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased the winning ticket from Books & News in Newark.

A lifelong Delaware resident, the woman said she has been playing the Delaware Lottery for over 30 years. She doesn’t have a specific process for selecting which tickets she plays, but usually purchases $20 worth at a time. On this particular visit, however, she purchased only one. When that single ticket turned out to be a $15,000 winner, the woman said, “I started jumping up and down and shouting in the store! It was just so exciting.”

After enjoying the thrill of the moment, the woman quickly called her best friend to tell her the good news. When asked what she was planning to do with her winnings, the woman said she would like to pay off some bills.

The woman claimed her prize from Lottery Headquarters on April 20, 2021.
