22-year-old killed in crash in Hanover

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, OH – Sheriff Richard K. Jones reported on Wednesday at approximately 5:50 pm, the Butler County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (S.T.A.R.T.) responded to the 2900 block of Hamilton Richmond Rd. in Hanover Township.

The accident involved three vehicles with multiple injuries and one fatality. Twenty-two-year-old Kyle Andrew Johnson of Cincinnati was flown to Miami Valley Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The other occupants suffered serious to minor injuries but non-life-threatening. The initial investigation determined Terrance Gains, driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala with occupant Kyle Johnson, was traveling north on Hamilton Richmond Rd. and traveled left of center striking a 2004 Toyota Prius head-on.

The Impala was then struck by a 2014 Toyota Tundra causing the Impala to flip. This is an ongoing investigation. “It’s always tragic to lose a life at such a young age. Our condolences to the family of the victim” states Sheriff Jones.
