ROCKVILLE, MD – The Maryland Lottery has its first Multi-Match jackpot winner of 2021! A lucky ticket sold in Rockville for the April 22 drawing matched all six winning numbers to land an estimated $1.4 million annuity jackpot. The cash value is an estimated $1.1 million.

Check your tickets if you were grocery shopping recently in Rockville. The winning ticket was sold at Giant #319 at 625 Hungerford Drive in Rockville. The April 22 winning numbers were 16, 19, 20, 21, 24 and 27.

The Multi-Match jackpot had been rolling since it was last hit for $1.15 million in the Sept. 17, 2020 drawing on a ticket sold at Holiday Liquors in Waldorf, the last of four Multi-Match jackpot wins during 2020.

The Lottery encourages the big winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.

The jackpot winner can claim the prize by mail or in person by appointment at Maryland Lottery headquarters, 1800 Washington Blvd., Baltimore. Get details on how to claim by mail here, how to schedule an appointment here, and how to claim at Lottery retailers and casinos here.

The retailer is a winner as well. For selling the jackpot-winning ticket, the Giant store in Montgomery County will receive a $1,400 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

Multi-Match is Maryland’s in-state jackpot game, with drawings held each Monday and Thursday. Tickets are $2. The Lottery draws six numbers from 1 to 43. Each ticket has three lines of six numbers from that range. Players match between three and five numbers on any single line to win up to $1,000. Tickets matching between five and 18 numbers across all three lines combined can win additional prizes up to $2,000. To win the jackpot, a ticket must match all six winning numbers on a single line. The overall chances of winning a prize are 1 in 8.5. The jackpot starts at an estimated annuity value of $500,000 (cash value $250,000) and grows after each drawing that doesn’t produce a jackpot winner.
