Police investigating shooting in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – At 8:52 pm, Fayetteville police officers were dispatched to reports of a subject being shot at a residence along the 1600 block of Newark Ave.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound inside the residence. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased by responding emergency medical personnel. The victim’s identity is currently being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Officers also located another male inside the residence, and he is currently being questioned in relation to this investigation.
