Two charged for 2020 murder in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, FL – On Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 3800 block of Crown Point Road (Sugar Mill Apartments). Upon arrival, an adult male victim was located deceased in the parking lot. It was later determined that the victim died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

The Homicide and Crime Scene Units were notified, and each responded to the scene to conduct their respective investigations. The victim was identified as Elias Alhirsh (White/Male 34). Investigative efforts revealed that he had come to the complex to visit an acquaintance.

As he was walking back to his car, two males approached him, and a physical altercation occurred. The victim was shot multiple times and the suspects fled the area in a dark colored sedan.


The investigation culminated in the identification of multiple suspects being involved in the murder. Subsequently, two suspects have been arrested for their part in the shooting death of the victim – Andrew Joseph Rauco (White/Male 21) and Lavonta Dejuan Burrell (Black/Male 29).
