NORMAN, OK – Twenty-one years ago, Caron McBride of Norman, Oklahoma rented Sabrina the Teenage Witch and forgot to return it. After getting married, she went to change her name on her license and was notified that she had a felony charge of embezzlement of rental property.

“I had lived with a young man, this was over 20 years ago,” she said in an interview with KMOV. “He had two kids, daughters that were 8, 10 or 11 years old, and I’m thinking he went and got it and didn’t take it back or something. I don’t know. I have never watched that show in my entire life, just not my cup of tea.”

This week, the Cleveland County Attorney’s Office notified her she was wanted for the crime she committed.

McBride said she had been abruptly let go from several jobs over the years and never knew why. Now, she suspects her criminal record may have had something to do with it. The prosecutor ended up dropping the case, but now she will have to petition to have the former charges expunged.
