New Jersey banquet hall charged for illegally selling beer and wine, owner arrested

EATONTOWN, NJ – On Saturday, the Eatontown Police Department conducted an investigation into the alleged illegal sale of alcoholic beverages at the Royal Banquet and Party Hall located at 613 Hope Road. The investigation revealed that beer and liquor were being sold to patrons despite the fact that the Royal Banquet and Party Hall does not possess a liquor license.

Subsequent to the investigation, the owner of the Royal Banquet and Party Hall, 59-year-old Graciano Torres from Red Bank, was arrested for selling alcoholic beverages without a proper license, possession of alcoholic beverages with the intent to sell them without a proper license, aiding or abetting another in the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages, and purposely maintaining an illegal liquor establishment.

In addition to Mr. Torres, a 55-year-old man from Old Bridge, Victor Rangel, and a 29-year-old female from Long Branch, Guadalupe Gascon-Ayala, were arrested and charged with purposely selling alcoholic beverages without a proper license. Mr. Torres, Mr. Rangel, and Ms. Gascon-Ayala were all released on a complaint summons pending an appearance in Monmouth County Superior Court.
