Marion County, FL – A fit of road rage has landed 22-year-old Sarah Irene Rivera in the Marion County lockup.

“Road Rage is a big issue all over the state, and now 22-year-old Sarah Irene Rivera is in jail because she couldn’t keep her temper in check,” the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said. “Sarah was driving down South Pine when she and the vehicle in front of her changed lanes to get around a driver they both thought was going too slow.”

The department said Rivera, “Apparently didn’t approve of the vehicle in front of her changing lanes as well and her road rage took over.”

Rivera, according to the victim, sped around the victim’s vehicle and began slamming on her brakes while driving in between the two lanes. She then threw something out of her window, hitting the victim’s car and causing damage.

“If that wasn’t enough when they came to a stoplight, she got out of the car and began threating the victim, who also had a child in the car,” the department said. “When the victim told Sarah that she was going to call law enforcement, Sarah left, but not before her license plate and a photo of her were captured. Sarah has been charged with Assault, Weapons Offense (throwing the item at the car), and Criminal Mischief.”
