Two shot while standing in front of D.C. convenience store

WASHINGTON, DC – The safest place in Washington, D.C. these days is behind the wall erected around the U.S. Capitol building. Outside the perimeter wire, shootings and violent crime are escalating in the nation’s capitol.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District seek the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects in reference to an Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) offense that occurred on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in the 2400 block of Hartford Street, Southeast.

At approximately 3:57 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
