A former PGA golfer has been arrested and charged for attempting to arrange for a sexual encounter with a teenage girl. It turned out that teenage girl was instead an undercover officer engaged in an operation to capture online sexual predators.

Orlando police said Bowling, 26, is a “dangerous online predator”. He had contacted the undercover agent in April on AdChat and police said the conversation “very quickly” turned toward a sexual nature and intensified. He was arrested without incident by the Orlando Police Department.

Unfortunately, there are potentially hundreds of predators like Mr. Bowling online,” the department said today. “I hope news of today’s arrest encourages parents to be more proactive in monitoring their children’s lives online.”

Bowling was active from 2012 through 2016 in the PGA, ranked 128th in 2012 and earning just $1,500 for his performance.
