VERO BEACH, FL – One person was arrested Thursday around 8:30 a.m. after he brandished a pistol after finding out he did not have a ride to work.

Aukemya Dillard, 18, of Vero Beach, became angry with his mother and started waving around a firearm. Dillard told his mother he would shoot her if she called the police.

He left the residence wearing his “tie-dye” shirt. When we located Dillard and he saw us, he walked back home.

During the argument, Dillard also broke a microwave. A Glock Model 48, reported stolen by Sebastian Police was recovered at the scene. Dillard faces charges of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and resisting arrest without violence. He is being held at the Indian River County Jail on a $51,000 bond.
