Woman drops cigarette while driving, strikes two people, dog, parked cars and mailbox

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A woman smoking in her car dropped her cigarette while driving down Morris Boulevard in Toms River on Sunday police said. Before she could look up, she struck two people walking their German shepherd, two parked cars and a mailbox.

Michele Ventriglia, of Beachwood has been charged yet, but police are still investigating the crash. The dog was not injured, but one person was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
