Dunkin Donuts employee punched and killed customer for racial slur

TAMPA, FL – An African American employee of Dunkin Donuts has been arrested after he punched a customer who uttered a racial slur. Police say the 77-old-man confronted Corey Pujols, 27. Pujols punched the man who fell backwards, hitting his head on the hard floor below.

The man, who complained about bad service, was asked to leave the business. After words with Pujols, the man uttered a racial slur and Pujols challenged the elderly man to say it again.

And he did, so Pujols assaulted him. The man died two days later from a skull fracture and brain contusions. Pujols was charged with manslaughter of an elderly adult.

Dunkin donuts said they are watching the matter closely and cooperating with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and the Tampa Police Department

“We are deeply saddened by the incident at our franchised restaurant in Tampa. The franchisee, who independently owns and operates this restaurant, is fully cooperating with the local authorities,” the company said in a statement. “As this is an ongoing investigation, we defer any additional questions to the police.”
