Police say body found in woods was city’s 71st murder of 2021

COLUMBUS, OH – Gunshots rang out once again in Columbus, killing another black man. This is the 71st murder in the city since New Year’s Day.

According to police on Wednesday at 9:13 am, officers received a call of a body found in the woods off the side of the road near 3760 Brice Rd.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a black male victim who had been shot. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene. There has been no positive identity made. There are no suspects at this time.
