Former White House Press Secretary Says Biden Mask Announcement Skilled Political Move to Distract Americans

On Thursday, President Joe Biden and the CDC announced an end to America’s public face mask mandate. While some governors are now digging in to continue them locally, the majority of America is not.

Now, Biden is being accused of coordinating the timing of his announcement with the timing of growing scandals and multiple crisis events his administration is facing politically.

The announcement was made as the typically adoring liberal media began circling the Biden wagon as a gas shortage plagues the nation, Israel and Hamas are at the brink of war, and after Russian hackers were paid millions of dollars in ransom to free America’s east coast oil pipeline.

Last night on Fox News Channel’s “The Five”, former White House Press Secretary Dana Perino suggested the timing of the news is suspect.

“Maybe it’s caution, maybe waiting to hear from scientists,” Perino said. “Earlier this week, CDC Director Rochelle Walinsky testified in front of Congress not wearing a mask. I think all of this is sort of strange, but I would admire the skill to hold a positive announcement,” Perino said. “When you’re at the White House and every other story and every headline is bad, you’re looking for a good story to break through to the American people…and this would be it. I admire it.”

“They’re extremely lucky or extremely skilled and I admire it either way,” Perino said.

Before joining Fox News, Perino served on the Broadcasting Board of Governors, appointed by former President Barack Obama. She served as a press secretary in the George W. Bush administration from 2005 until 2009. Prior to that, she was a spokesperson for the Department of Justice.
