CVS says fully vaccinated customers do not need to wear facemasks

If you’ve been fully vaccinated, CVS says you don’t have to wear facemasks when shopping in their stores. This comes days after the CDC and President Joe Biden lifted the nationwide mask mandate. The mask mandate still applies in New Jersey where Governor Phil Murphy is one of America’s last hold outs against the CDC guidance.

CVS Pharmacy announced today that, consistent with the latest CDC guidance, effective May 17 customers who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear face coverings inside of our stores, unless it is mandated by state or local regulations. Customers who are not fully vaccinated are asked to continue wearing face coverings, and employees are required to do so while at work. Health, safety and science will continue to drive our decision-making process.

New Jersey remains one of approximately three states that continue to mandate face masks in public despite the CDC guidance and Presidential stamp of approval. Governor Phil Murphy said last night, it will be a few more weeks until New Jersey drops the state enforced mask mandate in indoor settings.
