Man gunned down in Atlantic City, recovering from multiple gunshot wounds

ATLANTIC CITY- The ACPO MAJOR CRIMES Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred Friday, May 14, 2021, that left one man dead, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

On May 14, 2021, at approximately 11:02 p.m., Atlantic City Police was notified via ShotSpotter and 911 calls of a shooting in the area of Baltic and Maryland Avenues.  Officers of the Atlantic City Police Department responded and located Jacque Sheppard Jr., 34, of Pleasantville who was unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Sheppard was transported to the Atlanticare Regional Medical Center City Campus where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
