COVID-19 virus leaked from Wuhan laboratory is plausible according to U.S. report in 2020 that went ignored

A report by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s “Z Division” said back in May 2020 that it was plausible that the COVID-19 virus was leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China, causing a global pandemic that resulted in the death of nearly 4,000,000 people.

A Wall Street Journal report this week said sources close to the report said the findings warranted a strong case for further inquiry into the virus being a lab leak from the Wuhan facility.

The assessment is said to have been among the first U.S. government efforts to seriously explore the hypothesis that the virus leaked from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology along with the dominant hypothesis that the virus spread naturally from animals to humans. Although some prominent scientists have called for a fuller probe of the lab hypothesis in recent months, many scientists still insist a natural spillover remains the most likely explanation.

China has denied that the Wuhan lab is the origin of the virus. One person who has not denied its origin is former President Donald Trump who has been claiming the virus was a Chinese manufactured in the labratory.

“It is now unanimous, and I have been proven right (once again) that the initial World Health Organization Report on the Wuhan Lab was flawed and must be redone, this time by a truly transparent investigation,” Trump said today. “We were right about the China Virus from the beginning, and now the entire world sees it. This is why the Chinese Communist Party should pay $10 Trillion in global reparations for what they allowed to happen, the worst event in world history.”

Trump went further to condemn Dr. Anthony Fauci over his ties to the facility, calling Fauci’s science, ‘science fiction’.

“Even here in the United States, the so-called experts like Dr. Fauci were wrong about the Wuhan Lab and China’s role the entire time,” Trump said. “Just think how bad things would have gotten if I followed Dr. Fauci’s advice and never closed down travel from China (and other things)? Dr. Fauci likes to say that he is “science,” when in fact he is merely science fiction!”

The State Department’s findings, which were vetted by U.S. intelligence agencies, were made public in a Jan. 15 fact sheet that listed a series of circumstantial reasons why the Covid-19 outbreak might have originated as a result of a lab accident. They include the assertion that “the U.S. government has reason to believe that several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019” with symptoms that were consistent with Covid-19 or a seasonal flu.
