George County man charged for double assault

GEORGE COUNTY, MS. – On Thursday, June 10th, 2021, the George County Sheriff’s Office responded to calls of a disturbance at a residence in the 2200 block of Highway 63 S, in the Barton Community of George County, MS. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a male victim and a female victim with several injuries.

The suspect, Walter Evans Brewer, Jr. (45) of Lucedale, MS, was taken into custody after witnesses confirmed that Brewer had assaulted the male victim with a vehicle, as well as assaulting the female victim. ASAP Ambulance Service responded to the scene and provided medical aid, transporting one victim to an area hospital for further treatment. Brewer refused medical treatment and was transported to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning.

After further investigation, Brewer was booked into the George County Regional Correctional Facility on one charge of Aggravated Domestic Violence and one charge of Attempted Murder. Following an initial appearance before a George County Justice Court Judge, Brewer was given a $25,000.00 commercial bond on each charge and remains in custody at this time.
