New York City cop under fire for walking into man’s home, says “door was open”

Adam Devine

A New York City cop entered a man’s home, passing through three doors and a flight of stairs, only to tell the man his door was open and he didn’t know. It’s not certain why the officer showed up at his house. He never announced himself as New York Police officer and did not say whether or not he had a warrant. New York Police have not yet commented on this video. The man was allegedly roughed up by the officer while initiating an arrest. He was later released from police custody without charges. Now, the department and the cop are both facing public scrutiny over the incident being blamed for overstepping their legal authority.
