East Orange man with open bottle of Brandy charged with DWI after erratic driving in Jackson

JACKSON, NJ – Late Wednesday night, Police Officer John Araneda responded to Toms River Road on the report of a Mercedes being driven erratically and described as swerving all over the road. The officer located the vehicle parked on Bowman Road with the driver using his cell phone.

While the officer spoke with the driver, he detected the odor of alcohol and made observations of impairment. Field sobriety testing was conducted and the driver was placed under arrest for DWI and the vehicle was impounded. During a search of the vehicle, an open bottle of brandy was recovered.

The driver was identified as Odell Price, age 44 of East Orange. He was processed and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was released on summons pending a court appearance.
