Man sleeping on tracks loses an arm, both legs after struck by train

PASCAGOULA, MS – On June 16th, 2021 at approximately 9:15pm, Officers were dispatched to the railroad tracks near Hospital Road regarding a pedestrian who had been hit by a train. When officers arrived on scene they found a 63 year old man who had been hit causing one of his arms and both legs to be severed. Officers immediately applied tourniquets and the gentleman was taken to Singing River Hospital and then air lifted to USA University Hospital in Mobile, AL.

No names are being released at this time. Upon the initial investigation, it was determined the victim was sleeping on the railroad tracks; however, this is an ongoing investigation. If you have any information regarding this incident please contact us at 228-762-2211.
