72-year-old charged for pulling gun in parking lot argument

Wilmington, DE- Delaware State Police arrested Robert Lewis, 72, of Wilmington, for felony aggravated menacing.

On Saturday, June 19, 2021, at approximately 11:02 a.m., a trooper on patrol in the Branmar Plaza located at 1812 Marsh Road, Wilmington, was flagged down by an individual about a disturbance with a firearm. The investigation determined a 56-year-old male and Robert Lewis engaged in a verbal argument in the parking lot. During the argument, Lewis entered his vehicle and retrieved a firearm. Lewis then brandished the weapon at the victim. The victim was uninjured during the incident.

A loaded Colt King Cobra .357 Magnum revolver handgun was located on Lewis’ waist band area on scene. Lewis was taken into custody without incident and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 1 and charged with Aggravated Menacing (Felony). He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to Howard R Young Correctional Institution.
