PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 3:23 a.m. on June 19, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Broadway and East 23rd Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of a person shot. On arrival, police located a 20-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was walking in the area of 14th Avenue and East 21st Street when he was shot by an unknown gunman. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
