Victim shot by random gunman on RosaParks Boulevard

PATERSON, NJ – Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 5:04 a.m. on June 20, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the area of Ellison Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene and a 45-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained non-fatal gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey for treatment. Based upon the initial investigation, it was determined that the victim was standing in the area of Ellison Street and Rosa Parks Boulevard with a group of individuals, when he was shot by an unknown gunman. The investigation remains active and ongoing. More information will be released once it becomes available.
