Firefighters rescued entrapped occupant after crash

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Sunday, June 27, 2021, at approximately 7:02 PM, officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to the Black Horse Pike in the area of Landing Road for a motor vehicle crash. One of the vehicles involved rolled onto its side causing one of the occupants to become trapped underneath the vehicle.It’s reported that both vehicles were traveling southbound when the collision occurred.

The passenger in one of the vehicles was flown to Cooper Hospital, Trauma Unit, for serious injuries to her upper and lower extremities. The driver of the vehicle was transported to Cooper Hospital for undisclosed injuries. The passenger is currently in critical, but stable condition. The second driver was uninjured.

Names of those involved are being withheld until notifications have been made.


The Black Horse Pike was closed between Brewer Avenue and Oak Avenue and for several hours during the initial stages of the investigation. The investigation is being conducted by the Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT).
