It was just the first leg of the Tour De France when a woman holding a sign caused a massive pile-up that snarled the racers. Later, another major crash slowed the race once again.

Race organizers are now saying they intend to sue to woman who caused the crash for damages.

“We’re glad to have the public on the side of the road on the #TDF2021. But for the Tour to be a success, respect the safety of the riders! Don’t risk everything for a photo or to get on television,” Tour De France said later in a statement.

A second pileup 10 km down the leg slowed things down again.
