Border Patrol Arrests Two Convicted Sex Offenders in Two Days

IMPERIAL, Calif. – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested two undocumented individuals, each with a prior conviction for a sexual offense, on Monday and Tuesday of this week.

At about 2:10 a.m. on Monday morning, El Centro Border Patrol Station agents encountered an undocumented individual who entered the U.S. through the Jacumba Wilderness region near Ocotillo.  At about 10 p.m. on Tuesday evening, agents apprehended an undocumented individual within minutes of illegally entering the United States in the city of Calexico.

In both cases, agents arrested the individuals and transported them to the El Centro Processing Center.  Records checks revealed that the individuals were previously convicted for a sex crime and previously removed by an Immigration Judge.


In fiscal year 2021, which began Oct. 1, 2020, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested and/or removed 31 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.
