Jersey City man charged after nearly striking pedestrians in Mantoloking

MANTOLOKING, NJ – On June 30, 2021 police apprehended Joshua Vega, 19, Jersey City, after nearly striking pedestrians in the roadway with his vehicle and refusing to stop for multiple motor vehicle offenses. The accused was apprehended by Sgt. Justin Lamb in Mantoloking and subsequently charged with 2nd Degree 2C:29-2B, Eluding Law Enforcement, and the following motor vehicle summonses: 39:4-98 Speeding, 39:3-10a Driving while Unlicensed, 39:4-85 Improper Passing, 39:4-96 Reckless Driving, 39:4-97 Careless Driving, 39:4-85.1 Driving the Wrong Way, 39:4-88B Failure to Maintain Lane, 39:4-123 Improper Left Turn.
