Three more shot in Paterson early this morning

PATERSON, NJ – Three more people were shot this morning in Paterson after an unknown gunman began shooting at people in the area of East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue.

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 5:44 a.m. on July 5, 2021, members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of East 23 rd Street and William Street in Paterson, New Jersey on a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, police located a potential crime scene, but no victims were identified. A short time later, members of the Paterson Police Department were notified that a 31-year-old male Paterson resident, a 43-year-old male Paterson resident, and a 25-year-old female Paterson resident arrived at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center seeking treatment for non-fatal gunshot wounds.


Based upon the initial investigation, it was determined that the victims were standing in the area of East 23rd Street and 12th Avenue when an unknown gunman began shooting.
