Washington Monument Crash: Disgruntled Jersey driver arrested after intentional crash

WASHINGTON, DC – A New Jersey man, Jack Dessin, 38, was charged with assault after driving his SUV toward a group of people at the Washington Monument. The incident happened Saturday night and Dessin has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon by the U.S. Park Police.

Dessin crashed into a stone wall approximately 500 feet from the monument at around 7:30 pm Saturday night. Nobody was hit by his vehicle.

Dessin posted a video to Facebook complaining about Facebook and other big tech companies as his motivation for the failed attack. A witness who pulled Dessin from his vehicle after the incident claims the Jersey man claimed the government was after him and trying to kill him.
