FRESNO, CA – Just before 9:30 am Friday, Fresno County Sheriff’s dispatchers received a call of shots fired in front of a home on the 3000 block of E. Olney Ave. in Malaga. Deputies responded and found a man in his early 50s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and medics transported the man to Community Regional Medical Center. At 10:00 am, the man was pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin an investigation. They along with members of the Crime Scene Unit collected evidence, interviewed witnesses, and collected surveillance video in the area. It appears the victim was in a vehicle when he was shot, then got out and collapsed on the street. Detectives identified a silver Honda CRV as the vehicle belonging to the suspects. Shortly before 1:00 pm, a matching vehicle was found burned near Jensen and Cedar Avenues. This Honda CRV was reported stolen earlier in the day.
