One dead after argument escalates in Corpus Christie

CORPUS CHRISTIE, TX – On Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 2:24 am Officers were dispatched to 3100 Magnolia about a shooting. When the officers arrived, they found a 36-year-old adult male in the driveway with life-threatening injuries. The officers attempted to provide life-saving measures, but the male passed at the scene.

Detectives with the Robbery / Homicide responded to the scene and determined that this was an argument between acquaintances that escalated to a shooting.

Two offenders were also injured during the shooting and they fled the scene in a vehicle to a local hospital. One of the offenders, a 24-year-old male, was dropped off to receive treatment while 35-year-old Raul Salazar traveled to Cole Park where he was contacted by patrol officers. Raul Salazar was subsequently placed into custody for murder and the other offender is currently in the hospital in stable condition.


All parties in this homicide have been contacted and there is no one outstanding at this time.
